If not for your direction and the action by the Sri Lanka navy, there would have been an irreparable loss caused to the reputation of Sri Lanka – K Line
(December 17, 2016, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) The efforts made by the Sri Lanka Navy to manage the security at the Magampura Mahinda Rajapaksa port has deeply appreciated by the said shipping line in a letter. The letter was handed over to the Navy Headquarters by the shipping line yesterday ( Dec. 16, 2016).
“I wish to place my deep application for the efforts made by the Sri Lanka Navy under your command in securing the release of the above at the Port of Hambantota from the elements that were restrained in the said vessel”, the letter signed by John Shiran Dissanayake, chairman of the ABC Shipping (PVT.) limited, the local agent of Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha Ltd. (K-Line) noted.
“My principles M/S Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha Ltd ( “K” Line ), Japan, wishes me to personally convoy their esteemed appreciation in this regard to the Sri Lanka Navy particularly for respecting the universal maritime rights and practices”, the letter added.
“My principles being one of largest Shipping Lines in the world, has regained their confidence by your timely action for which I am personally grateful. If not for your direction and the action by the Sri Lanka navy, there would have been an irreparable loss caused to the reputation of Sri Lanka as a safe destination for the international shipping company”, the letter further elaborated.
